Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced: Xbox Series X hits 60 FPS, Series S stuck at 30
Ubisoft has officially detailed the performance specifications for Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, which launches on July 9, 2026. The remake will arrive on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC, with distinct performance tiers depending on your hardware.
Xbox Series X matches PS5 with 60 FPS option
The Xbox Series X delivers a performance profile that aligns closely with the standard PlayStation 5. Players on both consoles can choose between three graphics presets: Performance, Fidelity, and Balanced.
- Performance Mode: Targets 60 FPS.
- Balanced Mode: Targets 40 FPS.
- Fidelity Mode: Prioritizes visual quality at a lower frame rate.
The PlayStation 5 Pro gains a slight advantage over these base models thanks to its enhanced PSSR upscaling technology, but the Series X holds its own with robust resolution and frame rate targets.
Xbox Series S limited to 30 FPS
The news is less favorable for Xbox Series S owners. While the game supports ray tracing on this console and upscales the image to 1620p, players are restricted to a single 30 FPS fidelity mode.
Unlike the more powerful consoles, the Series S does not offer access to Performance or Balanced presets. This means there is no option to trade visual fidelity for higher frame rates, even if it meant disabling ray tracing or dropping the resolution further.
PC system requirements revealed
For those planning to play on Windows PC, Ubisoft has published the official system requirements. The minimum specs are designed to run the game at 1080p and 30 FPS using Low presets with standard ray tracing enabled.
- CPU: Intel Core i7-8700K or AMD Ryzen 5 3600
- GPU: NVIDIA GTX 1660 or AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT
- RAM: 16GB
Higher tiers for Recommended, High, and Extreme settings are also available on Ubisoft’s support page, catering to users with more powerful hardware who want to max out the visual settings.
What this means for you
If you are an Xbox Series S user expecting a smooth 60 FPS experience, you may be disappointed by the lack of performance modes. However, if you own a Series X or PS5, you have the flexibility to choose between speed and visual fidelity.
PC players should note that while the minimum specs are accessible, achieving higher frame rates will require significantly more powerful components. Additionally, the game does not support Xbox Play Anywhere, meaning your purchase on console will not carry over to PC or vice versa.
