Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Season 4 Reloaded brings Nick Cage bundle, new Zombies map

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is shifting gears with the launch of Season 4 Reloaded on June 25 at 9 AM PT / 12 PM ET. The update introduces a new round-based Zombies map, fresh multiplayer arenas, and a crossover event featuring actor Nick Cage.

While Treyarch has made strides in balancing gameplay mechanics based on player feedback, the latest operator bundles continue to spark debate regarding their fit within the game’s narrative universe. Here is everything you need to know about the new content across all modes.

#1 Nick Cage crossover and Summer of Action event

The headline feature for Season 4 Reloaded is a limited-time ‘Summer of Action’ event centered around actor Nick Cage. This marks another instance of celebrity crossovers in the franchise, following previous collaborations like Dave Chappelle.

Players can unlock rewards through both free and premium tracks by earning XP during the event window. The free track includes the “Opportunist” Samuels Operator Skin, the “Hired Muscle” Grimm Operator Skin, and the new AN-94 Assault Rifle. The premium track offers the titular Nick Cage Operator, along with weapon blueprints for the Peacekeeper MK1, Jäger 45 Pistol, and Dravec 45 SMG.

A daily login event also runs alongside the main campaign, offering tier skips, XP tokens, and the “Catharsis” X9 Maverick Assault Rifle blueprint. Zombies players have their own dedicated Kowakujō Event with exclusive camos and GobbleGums.

#2 New Zombies map: Kowakujō

Zombies fans get a new round-based map called Kowakujō. Set on the slopes of a volcano, the storyline tasks players with freeing the final Shadowsmith and recovering the World Seed to prevent catastrophe in the material world.

The map introduces new threats, including the supernatural Oni enemy equipped with an electrified melee weapon, scorched Zombies, and a fiery variant of Hellhounds. A dragon flies overhead during matches, adding to the atmospheric pressure. Treyarch has not revealed details about a new wonder weapon yet, but it is expected to drop when the season goes live.

The Main Quest for Kowakujō begins on June 25 at 9 AM PT / 12 PM ET. The narrative focuses heavily on characters Takeo and Carver as they navigate the volcanic terrain.

#3 Multiplayer maps and modes

Two new maps join the multiplayer rotation: Zenith and a remastered version of Launch. Zenith is a medium-sized 6v6 map set in a jungle facility with state-of-the-art tech. It features three lanes, flanking paths, and a running waterway leading to a lower bunker.

Launch returns from the original Call of Duty: Black Ops as a remastered 6v6 arena. The Russian rocket facility retains its complex layout, offering long sniper sightlines from elevated positions and tight corridors for close-quarters combat. A launch initiation protocol triggers at the halfway point of each match.

Returning limited-time modes include Team Blueprint Sharpshooter and Knife Fight. Blueprint Sharpshooter cycles loadouts based on kill streaks, granting bonuses like faster movement speed (1-streak), faster reload (2-streak), faster sprint recovery (3-streak), faster aim-down-sights (4-streak), and double score (5-streak). Knife Fight is a melee-only 2v2 variant of Gunfight where the first squad to win six rounds takes the match.

#4 Endgame updates and Warzone changes

Endgame moves forward with Act IV, titled Operation King Killer. Players must locate the Central Command Node and face the Glitch Boss. Ten escalating challenges in Zone III and higher unlock new rewards and weapon camos.

New abilities include the Guardian skill track, which features the Payback perk (ricocheting enemy damage and increased ammo spawns), friendly revives via proximity to downed teammates, reduced flinch, and reduced damage for equipped armor plates. The Psych Grenade returns with a brain rot effect, while the Fission Exotic Skill triggers explosions when killing elite foes. The Sleeper Agent nightmare skill turns base enemies into allies that rush and detonate on impact.

It is now confirmed that Endgame will remain free-to-play until the end of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Season 5. This aligns with the expected launch window for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, which is slated for October 23, with campaign early access on October 16.

In Warzone, Rebirth Island sheds its snow cover for a greener, summer-appropriate color palette. Points of interest from Season 2 remain unchanged. New playlist additions include Squad Gun Game on Resurgence maps and Buy Back Quads for Battle Royale maps. The Champions Quest also returns for teams seeking consecutive victories with specific criteria.

What this means for you

If you are a long-time Call of Duty player, the return of classic maps like Launch and the addition of Zenith should refresh your multiplayer experience. Zombies fans have plenty to explore in Kowakujō, though the difficulty curve with new enemies like the Oni may require adjusted strategies.

For those concerned about lore consistency, the Nick Cage bundle continues the trend of celebrity crossovers that some players find jarring against the game’s military thriller backdrop. However, if you enjoy cosmetic variety and limited-time events, the Summer of Action offers substantial rewards for both free and paying players.

A free trial period for Black Ops 7 multiplayer and Zombies will also be available during the Season 4 Reloaded window, giving new or returning players a chance to test the current meta before committing to a purchase.
