Microsoft has begun rolling out new Windows 11 Insider Preview builds to the Beta channel, targeting users testing both the upcoming feature update and the current release branch. These updates focus on stability rather than introducing major new features.
Builds now available
Testers in the Beta channel can now download two specific builds depending on their Windows 11 version:
- Windows 11 Version 25H2 (Next Feature Update): Build 28020.2380
- Windows 11 Version 24H2 (Current Release): Build 26220.8764
These builds are part of the regular monthly cadence for the Insider program, aiming to catch issues before they reach the general public via the Release Preview or Stable channels.

What’s new in these updates?
The release notes indicate that these builds primarily address small bugs and stability improvements. Microsoft did not highlight any major new features, UI changes, or significant performance enhancements in this specific drop. The focus remains on refining the experience for users who have opted into testing pre-release software.
What this means for you
If you are a Windows Insider in the Beta channel, you should see these updates available through Settings > Windows Update. As always with Beta builds, expect some level of instability; it is recommended to back up important data before installing. For most everyday users on the Stable channel, these changes will not be visible until they are verified and pushed out in future cumulative quality updates.
