The specific thresholds are clear: if your battery sits above 80%, the system will actively avoid hibernation. This ensures you retain the lightning-fast wake speeds that define the Modern Standby experience.

Conversely, when the battery drops below 10%, the policy shifts aggressively. The system will hibernate much sooner, bypassing the standard sleep state entirely. This sacrifice of instant wake capability is intentional. Deep hibernation, known as the S4 state, writes the full contents of RAM to a hiberfile on your SSD and powers the system down almost completely.
