Microsoft is kicking off another round of Xbox Free Play Days, giving you a chance to try several major titles without opening your wallet. This weekend’s lineup features two heavy hitters: Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 and Diablo IV.
The headliners
If you’ve been waiting for a reason to jump into the latest entry in the Call of Duty franchise, this is it. Black Ops 7 will be available to play at no cost through Sunday. It’s a great opportunity to test out the new mechanics and multiplayer modes before committing to a purchase.
For fans of action RPGs, Diablo IV is also included in the free access window. You can dive into the latest season content or catch up on previous campaigns without any restrictions during these hours.

Three more titles to try
Beyond the two main attractions, Microsoft has added three additional games to the rotation:
- Hi-Fi Rush
- Sea of Thieves
- Forza Horizon 5
These titles cover a range of genres, from rhythm-based action to open-world exploration and pirate-themed adventure. If you have Game Pass Ultimate or PC Game Pass, these games are already part of your subscription, but this event allows anyone with an Xbox console or the Xbox app on Windows to try them out.
What this means for you
Free Play Days are a low-risk way to decide if a game is worth buying. Since Black Ops 7 and Diablo IV are premium titles, getting full access for a weekend helps you gauge whether the gameplay style fits your preferences. Keep in mind that progress made during free play events typically does not carry over to purchased copies unless explicitly stated by the developer, so check the specific terms for each title before investing significant time.
The event runs through Sunday. Make sure you have enough storage space on your console or PC if you plan to download multiple large titles simultaneously.
